That is how long & how many bags it took for me to clean the playroom yesterday.....two bags of toys to rotate, one bag to trash, & one bag to donate. I remember the good ol' days when my kids were too young to play with toys that were choking hazards....sure did make for an easier clean up. Now we're up to our ears in accessories, parts & pieces!
I cleaned while the kids were at school. When Kate first walked in the new & improved playroom, she said, "Ahhhhh, this is beautiful!" Max just looked around & said, "What in the world???"

Won't be too long before the toys are overtaking my house.
I am sooo ready to chunk all but 4 toys per child! What happened to the days when a child only had a few toys and they were content with that? And the toys were much more simple - no accessories to get sucked up by the vacuum cleaner or get imbedded into the bottom of my foot?
i was like-girl, you make a lot of trash...i mean we make about 2 bags a day, but we have a couple of extra people in our family and two still in diapers...but then i actually read your post and now i am like-i totally need to be cleaning out all our stuff since we are fixin to move again...i like darla's idea of four toys per child...but do the accessories count?
Will you come do mine...please! I keep putting it off. Alex and Emily have WAY too much stuff up there...and are always complaining they have nothing to do. I saw a show where each child had to pick 10 toys to keep and put in a tub. Everything else was stored away until they could take care of the 10 toys they had. I've REALLY been thinking of doing something like that. You can't even walk up there and they don't take care of anything. We had to make a second baby playroom downstairs for Brayden's things since he's so much younger...and I don't know if you read the news but we have another one on the way now!!
carlie- when max sees a toy he's outgrown (or tired of playing with) he says he wants to give it to sarah :)
darla- i feel sorry for michael b/c he steps on so many toys. they are camouflaged by our den rug. love the idea of a toy minimum, don't think it would work here b/c of the kids' generous aunts, uncles & grandparents!
rach- see you soon!!!
carol- CONGRATULATIONS! i'm so happy for y'all. give me details...due date? gender?
