my husband, the bouncer
michael was in chicago last week. he & some co-workers went to an irish pub for dinner one night. a fight broke out on the other side of the pub. michael stood up to see what was going on. some guys near him thought he was the bouncer and pointed out who started the fight. the real bouncers quickly escorted the guys outside & they continued to fight on the street. a crowd of about 20 (including my husband) went out to watch. within seconds 6 cop cars drove up. the cops started tasering people. michael said it was awesome.

paint, flu, school
this month i decided to move kate into the guest room. it's bigger than her room, plus it has 2 closets...what girl wouldn't love that??? (f.y.i. - i didn't put her in that room when we moved in cause our guest room had a king bed & kate was still in the crib. so it made since at the time to put her in the smaller room.) last week i painted the guest room "livable green" from sherwin. she couldn't wait to move in. she keeps running into both rooms saying, "this is my OLD room....and this is my NEW room."

in less exciting news, max had the flu last week. i was very surprised when the test came back positive. the dr said it was a light case since he had the vaccine. thank you Lord! the worst part was his cough. he gags VERY easily. one night i had to change his sheets twice....yuck!! when he's sick, i keep a bucket in his bed, but he couldn't get to it in time. in this pic he's doing a breathing treatment. kate found an elephant mask & said she was doing her treatment, too.

school has been keeping us busy. kate had a thing last week. i've been getting ready for teacher appreciation. next week i'll be in max's room a bunch. plus we're doing a field trip & egg hunt. come on spring break, i'm ready for ya! here's a pic of elle & kate at school last week. they dressed up to recite nursery rhymes. elle did "mary had a little lamb" & kate did "rain rain go away." she had already taken her rain gear off.

it's like another bridal shower
I cleaned out my kitchen cabinets last week. I tossed out tupperware that had lost lids, expired seasonings, all the sippy cups (yay!), and old toaster oven accessories. And as an added bonus, I discovered 4 unopened boxes of corning ware that I got as wedding gifts! I know, I know....it's pretty sad that I never opened them. When we got married, I had so many pyrex casserole dishes...I just always used those. But every time we moved, I packed up the corning ware boxes & put them in a cabinet that was never opened. When I found them last week, it was a nice little surprise. I was very excited about finally using them , cause I've been on a "cooking kick" lately. I've started making weekly menus. Bekah gave me 2 new recipes that have turned out de-lish! (I'll save that story for another post.)
After cleaning out the cabinets, I noticed that I had only 2 juice glasses. I think I used to have 6. How could 4 juice glasses just disappear? I know they weren't broken....at least not while I was in town. I've left home a few weekends while Michael stayed with the kids. He hasn't fessed up to anything.....
So anyway, I wanted to get a new set of juice glasses. I love the ones my mom has. When I called to ask her where she got them, she said I could have 6 of hers! (She has 12 & never uses them.) Wasn't that nice!
Now I want new bath towels. Maybe we should throw each other another bridal shower!
