Our junk mail usually goes straight from the mailbox to the trash. But the above ad (that I scanned from the snail mail) was too funny not to share. How hilarious is that pic???

On a serious note....
When I read the list of services this company offers (botox, implants, lipo, etc..) it reminded me how we are totally consumed with outer beauty. We don't like getting older, so we buy an array of products & procedures to slow down the inevitable aging process. Just a few weeks ago, I combed the drugstore isle looking for my Olay age-defying, intensive nourishing night cream. I need to remind myself that charm is deceptive, and beauty is fading, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Proverbs 31:30)
In a ladies book study at church, we're reading Lies Women Believe and the Truth That Sets Them Free, by Nancy DeMoss. She writes that if we devote our time & energy trying to be skinny, glamorous & youthful, we may achieve those objectives for a while. But one day we'll regret having neglected to cultivate our inner beauty & character which are pleasing to God & last FOREVER.
